Stop into the headquarters of the EDPA on January 22 at 8:30AM to hear from Britney Summerville, the founder of Birmingham Bound.

It’s easy to see why Britney is the inaugural presenter. From serving on the boards of REV Birmingham and Tech Birmingham, to serving as the Vice President of Community Engagement at Shipt, Britney’s resume is impressive.

During her time at Shipt, Britney has seen first-hand how a Birmingham startup can reach success. And that’s what inspired her to start Birmingham Bound.

What is Birmingham Bound?

After 20+ years of experience working with successful Birmingham tech startups, Britney decided to create an initiative to show other people why Birmingham is the best place to grow and scale tech companies.

This initiative, Birmingham Bound, aims to bring tech companies from all around the country to Birmingham. By showing these tech companies all of Birmingham’s strengths, Birmingham Bound aims to turn the Magic City into the tech hub of the southeast.

Birmingham Bound has invited 25 companies and nine venture capital funds to see what Birmingham’s technology scene has to offer. To date, 11 of these companies have already committed to either relocating their headquarters or opening an office in Birmingham!

“I look for inspiration everywhere for Birmingham Bound. Most of the best ideas and leads come from our progressive business community.”
