The Fourth of July is underway! Get ready to show off that red, white and blue during these celebrations taking place in and around Birmingham.

3rd Annual “Red White and Brew”

Don those patriotic colors during the 3rd Annual Red, White and Brew Food Truck and Music Fest at Avondale Brewing Company. During this celebratory event, enjoy:

  • Live music performances from Legal Limit, Bailey Ingle and the Lamont Landers Band
  • Bham Food trucks
  • Children’s activities (inflatables, face painting)

There will also be a great view of the fireworks flashing over Birmingham. 

Proceeds from the event benefit Birmingham City Schools.

The drive-in is back at the newly constructed Backyard at Grand River in Leeds and it’s re-opening just in time for the most patriotic day of the year.

On July 3, there will be a huge celebration filled with hours of entertainment. Check out:

On July 3, celebrate our nation’s independence and brave heroes during Fire on the Water at Oak Mountain State Park. 

All day long experience outdoor happiness at this exciting state park with activities like:

  • Beach volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Fishing
  • Treetop nature trail

Food trucks will be on site from 10AM-9PM, so bring your appetite. Grab a beer on the beach from 5-8PM. (Cash only. No outside alcohol allowed.)

At 9PM, hunker down for the annual fireworks show. Be sure to bring chairs or a blanket for viewing comfort.

  • Witness the shot heard ‘round the world at the Concord Bridge
  • Meet Ben Franklin, Patric Henry, Thomas Paine and other patriots of the past
  • Take part in the Independence Day Ball

For a four to remember, attend the July 4th Festival in downtown Homewood. Two blocks of 18th Street South and one block of 29th Ave South will be blocked off for this exciting fun-filled event.

Downtown Homewood is also one of the best locations in Birmingham to view the “Thunder on the Mountain” fireworks show happening at Vulcan Park.

Love animals and the family-friendly atmosphere of the Birmingham Zoo? The Fourth of July is the perfect time for a visit. 

In honor of this heroic day, the Birmingham Zoo will also be giving admission to veterans as well as active and retired military and their dependents. Be sure to bring your military ID card, dependent ID card, driver’s license, etc. to get the deal.

Let freedom ring this Independence Day during the Trussville Freedom Celebration. Believe me when I say this annual event has everything you need to celebrate the Fourth of July. There will be:
