A guide to Birmingham’s best biscuits for National Biscuit Day

Did you know that Wednesday, May 29th, is National Biscuit Day? Biscuits are a major part of any Birmingham breakfast.

Here’s a guide to some of our favorite biscuits in Birmingham that you should try on National Biscuit Day.

1. Jack’s

Where: 3429 Lorna Rd, Birmingham, AL 35216

Although Jack’s in Homewood is closed for renovations, we had to include them at the top of our list. I mean, we did say they were the best in the South… They have so many options from bacon, egg and cheese to chicken to pork chop biscuits, Jack’s is definitely a must for National Biscuit Day.

2. Alabama Biscuit Company

Where: The Pizitz Food Hall, 3112, 1821 2nd Ave N, Birmingham, AL 35203

Whether you like to keep it simple or you tend to stray away from the traditional, you’ll find something just for you at Alabama Biscuit Company. From just the plain biscuit to the goat cheese, pecan and honey, everything is delicious.

3. Holler & Dash

Where: 2801 18th St S #101, Homewood, AL 35209

Holler & Dash is always a go-to for biscuits and a tasty breakfast. Whether you want something simple or extravagant, there’s something for everyone. 4. Bogue’s

Where: 3028 Clairmont Ave, Birmingham, AL 35205

If you’re in the mood for some really good southern comfort food and atmosphere, this is the place for you. Stop by early in the morning because they close at 12 and you don’t wanna miss out on their amazing biscuits.

Bogue’s is only open from 6AM until noon on weekdays, and until 2 PM on weekends—so make sure you get there early and with time to spare!

5. Milo’s

Where: 401 19th St S #130, Birmingham, AL 35233

Milo’s is a long-time Alabama favorite. Although they’re very well-known for their hamburgers and sweet tea, don’t underestimate their delicious biscuits.

6. Birmingham Breadworks

Where: 2408 7th Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233

Calling all bread lovers! This is the perfect place for a person who really appreciates all biscuits, breads and pastries. Breadworks had to go on our list because of their delicious biscuit options.

7. Big Bad Breakfast

Where: 1926 29th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209

Don’t be confused by their name, you can stop by Big Bad Breakfast for an amazing breakfast, lunch or dinner. Who doesn’t like breakfast for dinner? Their biscuits are only one part of their delicious food that you have to try.

8. Salem’s Diner

Where: 2913 18th St S, Birmingham, AL 35209

You’ve probably heard of the famous Philly cheese steak at Salem’s Diner, but have you tried their delicious biscuits? Their simple options like the bacon + egg or smoked sausage + egg are Southern staples that landed them a spot on this list.
