Pepper Place’s outdoor market kicks off on Saturday, April 13th, so why not celebrate with a Birmingham Taste Tour? The first It’s Nice to Have You in Pepper Place taste tour is April 20th—Here’s what you can expect.
What:
Less than 1-mile total walk around the Pepper Place Entertainment District with restaurant stops along the way.
When:
Saturdays, starting April 20th from 10:30 AM – 1 PM
Where:
The exact location will be emailed to you within 36 hours of the tour. You will meet near 3rd Ave S and 29th St S. A few stops that could be included on the tour are Hop City, Hero Doughnuts, Red Cat Coffee, Big Spoon Creamery, Stone Hollow Farmstead, The Lumbar—just to name a few.
Who
Tour groups can include up to 12 guests!
Why:
The whole idea is for you to experience the best of Pepper Place in only a few hours. You’ll sample food and drinks from local eateries, explore the market where you’ll hear from local farmers and artisans, and learn about the rich history of Pepper Place.
How:
Tickets are $65 and include at least four food tastings, one cocktail (with options to purchase more), and talks with farmers and artisans at the market. You’ll also be given market tokens to shop. Purchase tickets here until 4:30 PM the day before the tour.

Falling in Love (With Food)
Owner of Birmingham Taste Tours, Annie Reynolds, became a Bham foodie as soon as she arrived to the Magic City.
“When I left Louisiana over a decade ago, I was very sad to leave behind my culture for loving food—not only eating it but talking about it and appreciating its story. Birmingham’s food scene impressed me from day one, and as it grew, so did my love affair with it.”

She knew Birmingham was special, and she wanted everyone else to know it too.
“I’ve taken food tours in other cities and loved the way the food made me fall in love with the city. I knew our food scene could do that for others because it did it for me all of those years ago.”
Annie will lead some tours, as well as other trusty guides like Birmingham Magazine editor Julia Sayer.
“I feel so privileged to be able to show off our food, our city, and our culture. I also love bringing people together.”
