Recently, Bham Now took a tour with Curt Morris, local owner of La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, of his store in Hoover on Highway 150.

When you hear the words La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, the first image that comes to mind is La-Z-Boy’s famous recliners. Made in the USA for generations just down the road in neighboring Mississippi and Tennessee – La-Z-Boy recliners are America’s most iconic pieces of furniture.

“We gained our recognition through the recliner industry, but we also realized there was a major part of the market we were missing which was all the other furniture, the stationary pieces, the lamps, tables, accessories, putting the whole thing together. Many years ago we came up with the galleries concept,” said Morris.

More than recliners

When Morris leads a tour of La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, you quickly learn the store and whole operation is much, much more than recliners. It is a one stop shop. A gallery of surprises. Everything you need under one roof to furnish your home.

Family Room Gallery – The family room has motion furniture for people looking for sofas that recline. It’s the furniture that gets daily use from your youngest child to gatherings with family or friends to watch sports or movies.

Leather Gallery – Morris described this gallery best, “leather is like fitting a pair of shoes, it gets more comfortable over the years. It has become one of our main product choices over the years.”
