Garage sales can be a treasure trove of great deals, incredible stuff and lots of fun. God’s Garage Sale at Asbury United Methodist Church definitely offers all of these things, but it also features one truly unique element – everything is sold to the community for free. Yes, free!

No screening process. No purchase necessary. Just hit the sale on August 4 and take what you need.

“Most churches have garage sales,” Asbury United Methodist Church member, Larry King said. “But ours costs the same as God’s grace–zero.”

God’s Garage Sale will feature gently-used items, such as:

  • Clothing
  • Toys
  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Household goods

“Maybe it’s a ‘Methodist thing’, but in the great tradition of John Wesley and Frances Asbury, we know that we can’t take it with us and we know that we fail to hear the cry of the needy,” King said. “As such, the prices at God’s Garage Sale reflect the same price as the grace of the Almighty–nothing at all, because it has already been paid in full.”

Bring your family and friends and take what you need during God’s Garage Sale, happening August 4 from 8:30a.m.-11:00a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. Located at 6690 Cahaba Valley Rd., Birmingham, AL 35242.
