Let’s give it up for Jefferson County school cafeterias with perfect health code scores

When you send your child to school, there are many things you hope for as a parent. Are they safe, are they learning and doing well in their classes, are they fitting in and making friends? But another area of concern is whether your child is in a clean environment.

Just as restaurants are inspected by the public health department, so are school cafeterias. In Jefferson County, the Jefferson County Department of Health regularly inspects establishments in the area where food is prepared or sold for human consumption. Two types of inspections – scored and alternative (non-scored) are performed throughout the year.

While most all of Jefferson County school cafeterias received health scores in the 90s, several have received impressive and applaud-worthy ratings of 100!
