Bogue’s featured in “51 Best Breakfast Destinations in America” list

Last month, the popular website extracrispy.com named Bogue’s Restaurant on Birmingham’s Southside as one of the 51 Best Breakfast Destinations in America.
Bogue’s was joined on the list by several Southern breakfast destinations including Biscuit Love in Nashville, Early Girl in Asheville and West Egg Cafe in Atlanta.
Extracrispy.com did set down some rules:
“The places didn’t have to fit a particular mold or serve any specific dish, but they have to be open for breakfast on most weekdays (brunch-on-weekends-only joints, you’ll get your time in the sun), and they need to open to everyone (sorry, kick-ass room service French toast and poolside country club spreads).”
A beloved mainstay in Birmingham since 1938, Bham Now asked our readers to chime in about their love of Bogue’s.
“My wife and I say that you can tell whose romance has caught fire because you see them at Bogue’s on Sunday morning.” ~ Chris Goldschmidt
“Ella is my favorite and the eggs are good too!” ~ Beth Johns
“Two words .. sticky buns. Oh the breakfast is good also.” ~ Jeff Newman
“I first ate at Bogues in the 60s when I was in college. It was better than home.” ~ Sarah Edwards
“Bogue’s a back in time breakfast that predates silly health concerns.” ~ Bill Stokes
Bham Now’s own Hunter Holland sent in this gif that perfectly describes Bogues.
Known for their mouthwatering omelettes and sweet rolls, Bogue’s has been located on Clairmont Avenue since 1946. In 2012, Bogue’s moved into the neighboring renovated historic fire station after neighborhood activists rallied to keep Bogue’s and the historic building in the community (here is the complete history of Bogue’s).
Now declared a national destination, check out the menu and plan a visit. You will not regret it.
