Day Hike at Oak Mountain State Park

Put you hiking shoes on and get ready for a day hike in Oak Mountain State Park.

This Sunday March 12, enjoy a moderate 4 mile walk in the woodlands near Birmingham with Southeastern Outings. Departure is set at 1 P.M. (Meet at 12:45 P.M.) from Oak Mountain Park office parking lot. Admissions is $5 per person, $2 for seniors.

What to bring on a day hike:

• Picnic lunch
• Plenty of water
• Appropriate hiking boots
• A daypack to carry things in
• Suggested long pants
• Insect repellent
• Sunscreen
• Hat

Southeastern Outings is an excellent source for making new friends who enjoy the outdoors. Meet with other hikers and build relationships based on the love of nature. Parts of the hike may be off the color-coded trails, but not to worry, Southeastern Outings will keep your safety in mind. There will be some ups and downs, as expected – we are in Birmingham. Meet adventure and spend your Sunday with the great outdoors of Alabama.

Directions:
Oak Mountain State Park—200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, AL 35124. I-65 South from Birmingham to AL Highway 119/Cahaba Valley Road exit. Right off exit ramp, then left at first traffic light. Follow road 2 miles, then left at stop sign. Go 2 miles past the fee gate, then right onto Terrace Drive. Go to park office parking lot between boat parking and beach parking.
