Ten Events to look forward to Next Week
Birmingham has a fair share of events each week that will be sure to strike your fancy. Next week is not any different. From Fermentation classes to your favorite bands coming to town, here are 10 events you won’t want to miss.
March 6th: City and Colour USA Tour 2017 @Iron City
This folk group from Canada will be making strides through our city on their USA tour next Monday. They will definitely be leaving some color behind with their fun show. Join them at Iron City next week. Tickets are available now.
March 7th: Sera Cahoone with Tim Higgins
The Syndicate Lounge will be hosting these two wonderful artists next Tuesday from 7pm-12pm. Tickets are only $8 – $10 and it will definitely be a great way to spend your Tuesday night.
March 7th: The Weight of This World – David Joy
Critically acclaimed author David Joy will debut his newest novel, “The Weight of the World” at the Alabama Booksmith. Come here excerpts of this powerful story next Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm.
March 10: Opera Birmingham Gala
Celebrate another season of great opera at this year’s gala. Dress to the nines and head over to The Florentine for cocktails, Hors d’Oeuvres, and even a silent auction. Enjoy a lovely night out with a seated dinner and a concert.
March 10: McWane After Dark: Speakeasy Science
McWane is turning into a Speakeasy and you’re are invited. Learn all about the roaring 20s with live music from Birmingham Mountain Radio, beer tastings from our favorite local breweries, swing dancing lessons, and of course a costume contest.
March 10, 11, 12: Fermentation: Hands-On Workshop 3pt Series)
You can learn the art of Fermentation at the Botanical Gardens next week. Ever wanted to learn how to make your own kraut, kimchi, and other fermented delicacies? Now’s your chance with instructor Sandor Katz, Fermentation Revivalist and Author.
March 11: Full Moon Hike

The DeSoto State Park is hosting a Full Moon Hike for the outdoorsy folks out there. The Boardwalk Trailhead will be the place to be next Saturday!
March 11: The Cheesebrokers at Iron City
This 80’s themed band is back in Bham to rock out another show. You won’t want to miss the self-proclaimed most powerful rock & roll machine ever assembled.
March 11: Market by the Tracks in Avondale
From Saturday to Sunday, you won’t want to miss this artisan craft market that will be taking place every 2nd weekend of the month. Check out the good food, homemade sweets, antiques, and more next Saturday.
