Learn the basics art of pine needle basketry. This is an age old Native American craft. They used longleaf baskets to collect fruits, nuts, and berries. In this class, you will learn the basics of coiling pine needles as you create a drink coaster. Seating is limited and the class is only open to students 12 years old or older.

Ice skating comes to Railroad Park the day after Thanksgiving! Experience Brrrmingham’s Winter Wonderland by taking a spin on the ice with the cityscape as your backdrop.

Admission: $10 person / 2 hour session (includes skate rentals)*
Group of 20+: $8 person / 2 hour session (includes skate rentals)*
Discount Card $50: Save on admission with a prepaid punch card. Valid for seven (7) skating sessions (includes skate rentals)*
Individual Season Pass $65: Unlimited visits for the entire skating season (includes skate rentals)*
Family Season Pass $150: Unlimited visits for family of six for entire skating season (includes skate rentals)*

Walk-up tickets may be purchased at the ice rink, but some popular times may sell out in advance.

Starting November 25th through January 16th, the 50’ x 70’ outdoor rink will be located at Railroad Park’s 17th Street Plaza for all to enjoy. The rink will be open seven days a week, including Christmas and New Years. The Boxcar will be selling hot chocolate and other cold weather fare. Railroad Park will host birthday parties, holiday parties, and corporate gatherings at the new rink.

The park will also host different theme nights open to the public, including “Tacky Sweater Night,” “UAB Blazer Night,” “Neon Night,” etc. Our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles will bring you the theme night schedule and latest updates throughout the season!
