Birmingham’s Ram Tool acquired by Georgia firm White Cap

Ram Tool Construction Supply Co., a locally-owned distributor of specialty construction materials based in Birmingham, has been acquired by Georgia’s White Cap Supply Holdings. Keep reading for all the details.

Founded and headquartered in Birmingham since 1967, Ram Tool is a construction supply distribution company with locations across the east coast and mid-west. Over the past half-century, Ram Tool has grown from a startup supplier to a massive company with a nationwide presence, fulfilling the material and equipment needs of job sites. For instance, in 2012, Ram Tool acquired Marco Supply, Inc., adding Marco’s 12 branches to Ram Tool’s existing 18.

Acquired by Georgia-based White Cap Supply Holdings

On December 1st, White Cap Supply Holdings, LLC announced that they had closed on an agreement to acquire Ram Tool. While the combined enterprise will be led by White Cap CEO John Stegeman and President Alan Sollenberger. Page Naftel, the President of Ram Tool, will be joining White Cap as Chief Sales Officer.

So what does the acquisition mean for those utilizing Ram Tool and White Cap? According to White Cap President Alan Sollenberger, the deal will allow the company to increase their products, services and locations by combining the expertise of two knowledgeable teams.

Neither White Cap nor Ram Tool will see immediate changes to their services. Instead, the two companies will begin integrating their services slowly and purposefully over time.
