SUMMARY:Beginner Blacksmithing: Troll Cross
DESCRIPTION:Click here to register:\nhttps://www.redmountainmakers.org/event-6254643 \n\n \n In this class\, students will forge their own Troll Cross\, a traditional Scandinavian iron amulet believed to protect the wearer from trolls\, evil spirits\, and dark magic. Originating in Swedish and Norwegian folklore\, the Troll Cross was typically worn or hung above doorways to ward off malevolent forces and misfortune. The symbol\, resembling an upside-down loop or Odal rune\, was rediscovered in the 1990s when blacksmiths began reviving Nordic folk practices and reintroducing the piece as both a spiritual charm and a striking piece of wearable ironwork. During the workshop\, students will heat\, twist\, and shape raw steel into their own protective amulet using hammer and anvil\, learning basic blacksmithing techniques while connecting to a deep-rooted cultural tradition. \n\n \n About the Instructor\n \n \n : This class is taught by\n \n \n \n Kenneth of Fire & Brimstone Forge\n \n \n \n .\n \n \n\n \n Age\n \n \n : there are no age restrictions to the class\, however minors must be accompanied by an adult.\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n What to wear:\n \n \n \n At RMM\, you must dress safely and appropriately.
