SUMMARY:Bread and Puppet Fall 2025 Circus
DESCRIPTION:The Bread & Puppet Theater will bring its iconic circus to Tuscaloosa\, Alabama on October 10\, 2025. Founded in 1963 by Silesian-born artist Peter Schumann and his wife\, Elka\, Bread and Puppet is known for performances incorporating giant hand-made puppets\, stilted dancers and brass band music\, addressing timely issues like war\, poverty\, environmental destruction\, and corporate power. After each show\, Bread & Puppet serves its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli\, and sells “Cheap Art” – books\, posters\, postcards\, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press. This fall’s stop in Tuscaloosa will be the first ever for the historic theater company. \nThe October performance will take place at 7:00 pm on the front lawn of Canterbury Episcopal Chapel (812 5th Ave\, Tuscaloosa\, AL 35401). Pre-show music begins at 6:40. Admission is free\, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring a blanket or chair.
