DESCRIPTION:Cahaba Lily Festival is an annual celebration of the Cahaba lily at the Cahaba Lily Center in West Blocton. Registration begins at 8:00. Additional information is available on the festival website. \nThe festival kicks off with a morning program starting at 9:00. The program will feature a keynote presentation from Samford University Biology Professor Dr. Larry Davenport. Dr. Davenport has enlightened and entertained the crowd each year with his presentation\, “Romancing the Lilies.” He is recognized by many as the foremost authority on the Cahaba lily. \nOther features of the event include vendors\, a children’s play area\, presentations by various environmental groups\, and a lunch in the Cahaba Lily Center. \nCanoe rentals are available through after lunch for self-guided trips to see the lilies. Canoe rentals are $10 per person. Signal is unreliable in this location. While we can accept card\, we recommend bringing cash or check.
