SUMMARY:Erin Jane Nelson: Living and Working Exhibition Opening
DESCRIPTION:AEIVA presents Living and Working\, a survey exhibition of work by Erin Jane Nelson made between 2015 and 2025\, while she was based in a suburb of Atlanta. Inspired by the ecologies and shifting landscapes of the southeastern US\, Nelson’s work draws from regional craft traditions and science fiction alike to consider how sentimentality and personal narrative are entangled with ongoing environmental change. With a formally inventive approach to photography\, textiles\, and ceramics\, her work finds quiet persistence in the intimate labor of living and working on a changing planet. \nThis exhibition is free and open to the public. Join us for an opening celebration on Thursday\, May 21 from 5 to 7pm. \nAEIVA will be offering drop-in tours on Saturdays all summer long\, starting on May 23. Tours are led by AEIVA’s student guides and typically last between 20-30 minutes. No registration required.
