These areas are “migrant traps\,” where birds passing through find these wooded habitats at the city’s edge. Bowers Park has paths through nice mature woods\, and an area adjacent to the arboretum features more open habitat as a former golf course. We can expect a good variety of fall birds\, such as warblers\, including Magnolia\, American Redstart\, and Chestnut-sided warbler. Thrushes should include Wood Thrush and Swainson’s. With a little luck\, we may see Blue-Headed Vireo or Philadelphia Vireo.
