Birmingham’s Rojo has won the 2018 Restaurant Neighbor Award for the state of Alabama

According to a news release from Rojo, the popular restaurant in the Highland Park area of Birmingham, has won the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s 2018 Restaurant Neighbor Award for the state of Alabama.

Alabama’s river heroes

It’s a celebration!  The Alabama Rivers Alliance celebrated 20 years of river protection last weekend at Camp McDowell

Last weekend, the Alabama Rivers Alliance celebrated its 20th Anniversary by recognizing community and state “river heroes” at their annual Alabama Water Rally at Camp McDowell.

The highlight of the three day event was the River Celebration Awards Banquet which honored organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward river protection in Alabama.

Generosity: Rojo community fundraising tops $26,000 in 2016

Almost every Tuesday, Rojo, a neighborhood restaurant in the Highlands Park area, holds a 10% Tuesday night for local charities.

As the 2016 calendar year comes to an end, more than 40 nonprofit organizations have benefited from the weekly events, raising over $26,000.
