It’s a name we all know and love. Rodney Scott’s BBQ has become one of Birmingham’s go-to for some stomp-down good barbecue. Looks like the BBQ Hall of Fame took notice and now the founder, Rodney Scott has been announced as a semi-finalist for induction into the BBQ Hall of Fame.

Whole hog barbecue comes to Birmingham: a 6-point comparison of Martin’s Bar-B-Que vs. Rodney Scott’s BBQ

The entrance of whole hog barbecue into Birmingham’s culinary scene is going whole hog. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) Tennessee-based Martin’s Bar-B-Que opens in Cahaba Heights this fall. The news came on the heels of South Carolina-based Rodney Scott’s BBQ announcing its Avondale location, also scheduled to open fall 2018.

Woot woot. More delicious eats coming this way! Birmingham not only boasts homegrown James Beard award winners, but our city also attracts them across state lines. Barbecue master Rodney Scott owns the title of James Beard Best Chef of the Southeast 2018. Now his restaurant, Rodney Scott’s BBQ, is coming to the Magic City. The location? The current home of Saigon Noodle House in Avondale.
