Years ago, when travelers flew into Birmingham, their airplane flight path regularly approached and flew directly over Carraway Hospital. From one’s seat on the plane, you often felt you could reach out and touch Carraway’s iconic revolving “blue star.”
It’s March in Birmingham and everything is “blooming.”
Bham Now photographer Larry O. Gay made visits to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens at the end of February and on March 1st to capture the gardens flowering after two straight weeks of spring-like weather.
Described by the New York Times as “foodie heaven,” Bham Now photographer Larry O. Gay visited last weekend, the newly opened Pizitz Food Hall, which has been “rolling out” several of its new vendors over the past few days.
With evening temperatures predicted to hover around the mid-20s by Thursday of this week, photographer Larry O. Gay was able to capture the “last gasp” of Fall with a beautiful set of photos taken around downtown Birmingham. Incredible.
