This past Saturday, No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Auburn went head to head in the 82nd Iron Bowl. And as expected, football fans took to social media to share their thoughts about the game. Here’s a look at the good, the bad and the funny that hit social media before, during and after the Iron Bowl.
Auburn wasn’t the only winner today. Moe Greene of Birmingham was Bham Now’s Iron Bowl sweepstakes winner by coming the closest to guessing the final score of the Iron Bowl. Mr. Greene guessed Auburn 28/Alabama 14 which was the closest of our entries to the actual ending score of Auburn 26/Alabama 14. Congratulations, Moe Greene! While you are gearing up for the Iron Bowl tomorrow and wondering what you’ll eat, we have a suggestion. Turkey! You know you have it. You know you are going to eat it. All that leftover turkey means so many recipe possibilities!
In my family we have a turkey-sandwich making competition on the day after Thanksgiving. We take slices of bread and pile them high with our favorite concoctions: macaroni and cheese and gravy, dressing and cranberry sauce and gravy, green-bean casserole and mashed potatoes and cheese and gravy. All with turkey right on top. And more gravy. I cannot tell a lie. We are gravy crazy.
