We know this is a challenging time for small businesses, and we wanted to give some extra love to our Birmingham-area farmers. We reached out to six local farmers to find out more about the unique challenges they’re facing during this time and what we can do to support local farmers.
Now that Spring is here, it’s time to think about buying a CSA share with a local farm. CSA stands for “community supported agriculture,” and buying one is kind of like becoming part of the family of a local farm.
Here in Birmingham, we’re lucky to have choices for our CSA shares. We found eight to choose from.
Blueberries, blackberries, peaches, tomatoes, yum! Muscadines? Those will be ready late summer. Check out these u-pick farm locations about an hour’s drive (or less!) from central Birmingham. We’ll start with Jefferson county, then move on to locations in Blount, Chilton, Cullman and Shelby Counties.
