Mark your calendar for AIDS Alabama’s Art Alive! event on Saturday, July 27th from 6pm-9pm at Canary Gallery! Watch local artists create unique, original artwork during the event. Enjoy scrumptious food from El Barrio and complimentary beer, wine, and sangria. Works created during the event will be available through a silent auction, and other completed pieces of work from the artists will be available for purchase as well.
In this four week workshop, participants will practice creating portraits from a clothed model using oil paints. You may know Andy Jordan from his ongoing weekly figure drawing class at Space One Eleven, or you may know his murals, found in various locations across Birmingham. Jordan is continually exploring painting, drawing, exhibiting, and public art projects. Join him in practicing the art of oil portraiture!
All skill levels are welcome.
Participants bring their own supplies.
Nada Boner is a Birmingham artist creating organic ceramic sculpture. Her current work, based on natural forms, is unique and imaginative. In this six-week workshop, participants will learn to bring clay forms to life through the art of hand-building.

Art in the Making for adults 55 and better returns with an 8 week Clay Workshop taught by local artist Carolyn Wass!
Participants will have the freedom to create and learn about what interests them, at their own pace. Carolyn Wass will help you make functional and/or decorative objects, practice hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and more.
Classes meet Tuesdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm beginning February 26 and ending April 16.
Cost: $35 per class/$280 total
