SUMMARY:Revolutionary Roots: Celebrating Alabama’s Unique History and Natural Beauty
DESCRIPTION:Experience Vulcan Park & Museum’s 2026 exhibition\, Revolutionary Roots: Celebrating Alabama’s Unique History and Natural Beauty\, presented in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary as part of America250. \nWhile Alabama was not yet a state at the nation’s founding\, this exhibit honors individuals from across Alabama whose courage\, resilience\, and leadership have helped shape both our state and the country\, many of whom have been historically overlooked or unsung. \nThe exhibit features figures such as Calvin McGhee\, who helped establish the Poarch Creek Indians; educator Carrie Tuggle; voting rights activist Virginia Durr; NASA scientist Clyde Foster; and contemporary leaders\, including Alabama Poet Laureate Ashley M. Jones and HICA! CEO Dr. Carlos E. Alemán. \nInspired by Alabama’s distinction as the most biodiverse state in the nation\, the exhibit is anchored by a nature-based theme. A large\, three-dimensional tree serves as the central visual element\, symbolizing how roots\, trunk\, branches\, and leaves come together to form a strong and enduring whole. \n*Exhibit Open Now until January 10\, 2027* \nADMISSION \nTickets are available online and can be purchased at the Ticket Booth located at the park entrance. We accept the following forms of payment: Visa\, MasterCard\, American Express and Discover Card\, Travelers\, personal or business checks.
