He is now the owner of The Essential\, which opened in 2018 and has become a cornerstone of Birmingham’s dining community—known for its welcoming atmosphere and thoughtfully crafted menus. \nChef King joins a growing list of highly-respected\, local chefs of Sunday Supper Club spotlights.  \nWe look forward to seeing you there!

Zack\, who grew up in Brazil\, has worked in food and beverage for over 20 years and currently manages Red Bike Coffee in Crestwood. His passion for flavor and service shines through everything from family meals to menu development\, and he also serves as Vice President of Birmingham Red Dress Charities\, supporting local causes across the city. Danny\, a Baton Rouge native\, grew up cooking alongside his mother and grandmother\, eventually making his way to Birmingham through the restaurant world. After years in both corporate and independent kitchens\, he became the owner of Crestwood Coffee in 2010 and later opened Buck Mulligans and Brennan’s Irish Pub. Today\, he and Zack co-own Red Bike Coffee Roasters\, the Crestwood café\, and Kitchen Station\, a commissary kitchen in Irondale. Danny also runs a conference and event space in Liberty Park\, offering catering\, retreats\, and private chef services. When not in the kitchen\, he can be found in the woods or garden\, exploring the flavors of nature.
