TOGETHER WE CAN help save lives and build a stronger\, healthier future for Birmingham and the state of Alabama. \nThe END ADDICTION BHAM Walk presented by ETA is aFREE event hosted by the Addiction Prevention Coalition. This 9th annual event raises awareness and funds to help combat the addiction epidemic in Alabama. \nYour participation in this event directly supports life-saving programs in our community. Every dollar raised helps us: \nCommunicate awareness of the ADDICTION problem and inspire hope.\nProvide education for the PREVENTION of substance misuse.\nAssist those seeking CONNECTION by creating Coalition in the community. \nMAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY\nJoin our mission by creating your own fundraising team or making a donation. Your support helps us reach more people\, save more lives\, and bring hope to Alabama families affected by addiction. To donate\, click HERE.\n \n \nDETAILS\nEvent Date: Saturday\, April 5\, 2025\nEvent Location: City Walk BHAM Amphitheater – 9th Avenue & 21st Street\, Birmingham\nCheck-in/Registration Time: 10:00 AM\nProgram Begins: 11:00 AM\nPrice: Free to attend & walk | $35 to register and receive a T-shirt\, “Walking for” credentials\, and other EAB swag Register Here \nREGISTER AS A TEAM\nWhen you register as a team\, you’ll get to choose your own team name. Many teams walk in honor of a loved one who has suffered from substance use disorder or or in memory of a loved one they lost. Every team gets a team fundraising page where you can share your story of why you’re walking and raise money for the cause. Teams that raise $250 or more will have their team name printed on a banner and displayed at a prominent Birmingham location.  The top 3 fundraisers will be recognized at the event. Each team member will register for $35 per person and receive an END ADDICTION BHAM Walk T-shirt\, an ‘I’m Walking For’ Lanyard and more. Register Here \nREGISTER AS AN INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANT\nIf you do not wish to register as a team\, you can register as an individual participant. Every registered participant will receive an END ADDICTION BHAM Walk T-shirt\, an ‘I’m Walking For’ Lanyard and more. Registration is $35 per person. Sign Up for a Table Here \nThe Jefferson County Department of Health will be offering free\, 15-20 minute Naloxone Trainings. Learn how to recognize\, prevent\, and respond to an opioid overdose by using naloxone\, a medication used to reverse an opioid overdose. \nWe will also have our annual EAB Sober Circle through which we celebrate attendees’ sobriety whether they have decades\, months\, days or hours achieved! Each Sober Circle member will receive a “Hope” token from APC. This portion of the event is always full of joy and celebration. Don’t miss the love! \nIn Memory Activities honor and remember loved ones who have lost their battle to addiction. \nOur Angel Wings sculpture allows attendees to write a message to their loved ones on a ribbon and attach it to the frame to create a beautiful pair of angel wings that represent and honor those who are no longer with us\, but remain in our hearts forever. \nThe Memorial Flag Garden holds one flag for every Alabamian lost to overdose in a one year period.  Write the name of your loved one on one of these flags in memorium. In 2022\, Alabama lost 1\,492 community members to overdose.
