Position Summary
Recruits and Coordinates volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program. Â Works closely with the program director to identify volunteer needs and recruits, trains, and manages volunteer opportunities for the program. Ensures effective and efficient volunteer operations of the MOW program and maintains a professional and cooperative working relationship with other agencies and the community.

Responsibilities          Â
- Recruits and manages volunteer services for MOW
- Develops and maintains community and corporate relationships to expand MOW volunteer services
- Represents MOW at committee meetings, agency fairs, speaking engagements and other events as assigned
- Ensures volunteer database is maintained and accurate
- Submits timely and accurate program reports related to volunteer administration
- Regularly schedules and conducts volunteer orientations
- Based on communication with volunteers, relays client needs to case management team
- Must have a working and functional knowledge of all MOW routes, including but not limited to: route names, route numbers, location in the community and on a map
- Completes regular quality control + volunteer needs assessments with participating senior centers and drop sites
- Supervises all job functions of Program Specialist
- Other duties as assigned

Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent program management, organizational skills, and problem solving skills
Computer experience with Microsoft operations and ability to integrate specialized management databases
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work in a team based environment

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree required
Volunteer coordination experience required
Minimum 2 years relevant professional work experience required

Requirements:
Valid Alabama driver’s license
Reliable transportation
Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law
Must meet and maintain eligibility requirements to be insured by UWCA’s insurance
Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test
