Program Director, Early Education Initiatives

Job Summary          

Responsible for coordinating Success by Six and Help Me Grow Initiatives.

Responsibilities      

  • Responsible for researching and analyzing program data, reporting, and annual plans
  • Develop and implement strategic plan for Early Education Initiatives
  • Convene and coordinate community group meetings necessary to develop Early Education Initiatives
  • Monitor and facilitate UWCA involvement in community group process
  • Identify funding sources for Early Education Initiatives
  • Program budget development and monitoring
  • Convene collaborative partners for funding applications
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with UWCA member agencies and with leaders and representatives from the major community sectors
  • Direct supervision of staff to ensure program objectives are met
  • Comply with grant requirements
  • Participation in Community Initiatives’ Continuous Quality Improvement Plan
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

Proven experience in community planning and early childhood development

Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities

Strong organizational, analytical, research and critical thinking skills

Excellent written and oral communication

Proven ability to work in a teamwork environment

Computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft programs and Internet

 

Education/Experience

Master’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Development or social service related field required.

Five years professional work experience including supervisory experience.

  

Requirements:

Valid Alabama driver’s license

Reliable transportation

Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law

Background checks to include but not limited to criminal record, drug screen, and TB test

Normal office environment with occasional overtime and travel throughout the state
