  • Job Summary
    • The Blood Bank Manager will be responsible for managing transfusion services and daily operations of the Blood Bank and CV laboratories and ensuring accurate and timely analysis and reporting of clinical samples. Blood Bank Manager assists the Administrative Laboratory Director with planning, coordinating and managing functions within the Blood Bank and CV Laboratory departments including testing, staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting and other duties to ensure quality, service and efficiency.
    • Laboratory Senior Technologist will report to this manager.
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biological Science-  At least 6 years experience in immunohematology of which, 4 years training or experience, or both in high complexity testing as a medical technologist required.
        • For Biological Science degreed applicants, must confirm registry eligibility before applying or have already registered as a Medical Technologist by certification examination.
      • Completion of a twelve (12) month internship in a Medical Technology program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
      • 1-2 year(s) supervisory experience preferred
      • Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) Certificate preferred

      • Master’s Degree in degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biological Science:  At least 4 years of pertinent clinical laboratory experience in immunohematology, of which, 2 years training or experience, or both in high complexity testing as a medical technologist required.
      • Completion of a twelve (12) month internship in a Medical Technology program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
      • 1-2 year(s) supervisory experience preferred
      • Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) Certificate preferred
  • Experience
    • Minimum 6 years clinical experience in laboratory testing or with regulatory requirements for accreditation
  • Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
    • Registry as Medical Technologist with a national board of registry – ASCP or equivalent required
