Do you want to help victims of domestic violence?
YWCA Central Alabama is currently hiring for its Building Communities, Bettering Lives AmeriCorps program in the area of domestic violence services support. Qualified candidates interested in full-time, paid service to the community are welcomed to apply. Remaining positions include: Healthy Relationships, a program facilitating safe dating curriculum in high school, Family Violence Center, a confidential shelter for domestic violence victims, SafeHouse Shelby County, an organization providing shelter and support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and YWCA PFA Court Advocacy, supporting victims of DV in the legal system.
- Stipend of $1100/month (pre-taxes)
- An education award of $6095 upon completion

AmeriCorps positions start September 3 and conclude August 14, 2020. All positions are full-time, Monday through Friday during normal business hours with some evening and weekend expectations. Members must be able to serve during the day each day. Some college is required. A passion for serving the community and commitment of one year is expected of all.
