The AR Representative will be responsible for overall fiscal maintenance of a set of EIS and GOBI accounts. Responsibilities include collections prioritized by management, managing customer records related to billing, invoicing and sales and use tax, posting payments, trouble shooting, balancing, customized reporting, reconciling and other duties as assigned. In addition, this individual will communicate with customers and EBSCO offices around the world via phone and email to fulfill requests for assistance and information related to accounting and budgeting. This representative will be required to demonstrate measurable efforts to collect payment and will be required to meet objectives via key performance indicators including but not limited to days in arrears, cost of capital, and days sales outstanding.
The ideal candidate will possess very good computer skills, superior communication and people skills, will have the ability to use common sense and logic together with training and experience to make decisions, will adapt quickly and pleasantly to change, and will work well under pressure in a team environment. This person must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent attendance is required.
HS diploma or equivalent
4+ years’ experience in an office environment communicating with external individuals using phone and email
2+ years of A/R and friendly collection experience
2 years’ experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Previous experience within EBSCO
Experience using SAP accounting software
Experience with multiple currencies and exchange rates
High school, college, or technical courses in business or accounting
