Bham Now caught up with longtime Alabama Rivers Alliance Executive Director Cindy Lowry to talk about both the upcoming Water Rally and Southern Exposure premiere.

“We can’t wait to kick off Virtual Alabama Water Rally this week and spend the weekend with Alabamians who want to learn more about protecting our rivers and streams,” stated Lowery With special keynote speakers, inspiring and educational discussions and in-depth breakout sessions, Alabama Water Rally is a great opportunity to “get your feet wet” or completely submerge yourself in the ways to advocate on behalf of Alabama’s special places and impacted people.”

Along with an all star list of lineup of presenters Water Rally is a great way to network with clean advocates throughout Alabama.  It is truly an opportunity to build alliances.

Southern Exposure Film Series Online Premiere

Talk about a dynamic duo.  On Thursday, September 17, 7:00pm the Alabama Rivers Alliance and Alabama Public Television are teaming up to release this year’s Southern Exposure Films Series.

“We are thrilled to partner with Alabama Public Television for the online world premiere of the 2020 Southern Exposure films!” Lowry told us. “These interesting times required new creative methods and we think you will see that each of this year’s fellows have excelled in telling their important stories to the world. From farming to fishing, and “birding while black” to searching for turtles, these four films lift up the best of Alabama while not shying away from the challenges we face. We hope the films will inspire you to get involved to ensure a healthy, inclusive, safe natural world for present and future generations.”

Following the premiere of the films, there will be a panel discussion where you can get an inside view of how the films were made and learn more about how to get involved.
