Epiphany Eve tradition at St. Mary’s on the Highlands involves a special visitor – a camel

It was spotted behind Dave’s Pub and across from the Mellow Mushroom parking lot.  There it stood.

A camel.

Tomorrow is Epiphany, and per tradition, St. Mary’s on the Highlands Episcopal Church held their annual Epiphany Eve service with a camel and three wise men.

Along with the camel, the church lit a fire fueled from Christmas greenery, held a service and communion inside the church and handed out chalk and prayer cards to parishioners to perform the “chalking the door” blessing at their homes for Epiphany.

A beautiful and inspirational evening, complete with fire, wise men and a camel.
