This past weekend the doors opened for this Fairfield-based art gallery. The Steven Smith Fine Art Gallery opened on December 2nd with a mission to share some of the most important and inspiring artists today.

The gallery is now what once was the Fairfield Theatre, only 10 minutes from the Birmingham Museum of Art. They host a large array of modern and contemporary works. Some hot topic pieces involve work that engages certain social issues.

The gallery will feature artists from all over the world. In the future, the owners hope the gallery will be a major place for both local and international to show off their work. They are currently hosting four exhibitions. “VENT” by Peter Bahouth is a presentation of recent stereoscopic photographs. “Strip” by Mia Badham and “Strung Out” by Jonah Grice are solo presentations of mixed-media sculpture. “Stories that Make You Smile in Your Sleep” by Troy Crisswell features his recent oil and watercolor paintings.
