DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn more about trails and explore Birmingham’s industrial history? Join our Naturalists at Red Mountain Park where we will review the fundamentals of enjoying our greenspaces. \nThis program is designed for our friends and families who want to spend more time outdoors but don’t know where to start. We will review safety in the outdoors\, appropriate attire\, outdoor activities\, and how to make the most of your experience in nature. The program will include a short guided hike and a brief tour of Red Mountain points of interest! Red Mountain 101 is geared towards our community members who are new to outdoor recreation and is appropriate for all ages. \nNote: For the hike\, bring comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle.The hike will be approximately 1.5 miles on uneven terrain with little to no elevation change (fairly flat).
