SUMMARY:City Center Art Fall 2026 - Studio art classes for young artists in grades 2-3
DESCRIPTION:Young artists in grades 2-3 explore a variety of artistic mediums\, practice creative thinking and problem solving\, develop new tools for self-expression\, and\, most importantly\, have fun making art! Our teaching artist will guide young artists through projects tailored to their age and skill levels to help them develop as artists and build important creative skills. \n  \nFree or Reduced Tuition \nThrough our scholarship application\, art class fees are based on a sliding scale. As a result\, families may qualify for free or reduced tuition through the generosity of foundations and private contributors.

DESCRIPTION:Learn about southern ghost stories with Kayla Jordan \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis talk examines the uses of various southern ghost stories from the early to mid-twentieth century as means of social control through their specific portrayals of death and dying\, historical memory\, and emotion. As they reflected societies norms about death and dying\, they subsequently helped not only continue many historical fallacies but also influenced the actions of the living by giving them ghostly depictions of the consequences of failing to meet societal\nexpectations. \nRegistration required.
