Doors open one hour before showtime\, and the screening will begin with a sing-along accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. \n1978 | Rated PG | 1 hour 50 minutes\nGood girl Sandy Olsson and greaser Danny Zuko fell in love over the summer. When they unexpectedly discover they’re now in the same high school\, will they be able to rekindle their romance? \nSong lyrics will be displayed on the screen during the film so fans can sing along! \nWhy aren’t there more movies this summer?\nLike last summer\, we have made the difficult decision to close the Alabama Theatre for several weeks this summer to conduct a major maintenance project. This year we will replacing the electrical switchgear that brings electricity into the Alabama Theatre direct from Alabama Power. This switchgear is original to the theatre and was installed in 1927\, so it’s time for an upgrade! This project is many years in the making and will require the building to be without power for days and weeks at a time. We will be closed for several weeks mid-July through mid-August to complete the work! \nBecause of this work\, we unfortunately are not able to present a full Summer Film Series this year. Truthfully\, the summer movies are typically not a profitable event for us. Because of our limited schedule this year\, we have decided to show two fan favorites to make sure that the largest group of fans gets to enjoy a movie at the Alabama. We are hopeful that by having a few well attended movies\, we will be better able to achieve our mission of preserving and protecting the Alabama Theatre for years to come. \nParking Info:\nThe Alabama Theatre is not responsible for parking and does not provide any free parking.\nParking meters are free after 6pm on weekdays and all day on Saturday and Sunday.\nPlease be aware of tow-away zones. Lots marked “permit parking only” are tow-away zones and they will tow your vehicle at your expense. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:When: Saturday\, June 28th\, 2025 from 9:00-3:00\nMeeting Location: Grants Mill – Cahaba Blueway\nDay of event contact: Wil Rainer\, Mobile: (901) 210-7850\nAvailability: We have room for 22 volunteers in CRS boats. Participants are welcome to bring their own craft. Please email volunteer@cahabariversociety.org ahead of time if you plan to bring your own boat.\n\n\n\n  \nWhat to expect: \nThis is a paddling cleanup in canoes. \n  \nThe plan is to paddle and clean a stretch of the Cahaba. There will be opportunity to pick up litter and to remove invasive species (wild taro). We will tentatively schedule for Grants Mill Rd in Irondale to Old Overton Rd in Liberty Park. For more information on the stretches of the Cahaba check out the Cahaba Blueway. River segment is dependent on weather and water level. \nWe’ll plan to meet at the Grants Mill access where we’ll pass out gear and select paddling partners. We’ll set the shuttle before the trip so that your car is at the Old Overton Rd access when we finish. More details of this process will be shared at the meeting location. \nCRS will provide canoes\, paddles\, life jackets\, grabbers\, bags\, and gloves. There is no charge for this trip. Folks are absolutely welcome and encouraged to head to the CRS website for donations to offset program costs to CRS. \n  \n\nAfter every Mom’s Basement Cleanup there will be an afterparty at Mom’s Basement with drink specials and prize giveaways for each participant!
