SUMMARY:Feed My Starving Children MobilePack Event - Tabernacle Baptist Church
DESCRIPTION:Tabernacle Baptist Church\, in Birmingham’s historic Smithfield Community\, is partnering with the international nonprofit Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) to host a large-scale MobilePack™ event. The church has set an ambitious goal of recruiting 800 volunteers to pack 200\,000 nutritious meals for hungry children around the world. \nThe event will take place at Tabernacle Baptist Church (600 Center Street) on July 29 – August 1\, 2026. Volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts to measure\, seal\, and pack rice-based meals that will be shipped to communities in need across the globe\, where malnutrition is a daily threat to children’s health and development. \n“Feed My Starving Children is a respected organization that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated to address childhood malnutrition\,” said the Rev. Christopher M. Hamlin\, pastor of Tabernacle. “We are inviting the entire Birmingham community—especially our students\, athletes\, and youth groups—to join us in this life-saving mission.” \nEvent Goals: \n\n800 volunteers from the greater Birmingham area\n200\,000 meals packed in total\nTwo-hour shifts are available for individuals\, teams\, and organizations\n\nTabernacle Baptist Church is actively reaching out to Birmingham City Schools athletic teams\, student organizations\, youth groups\, local businesses\, and community organizations to participate.
