DESCRIPTION:| 			\n			\n							 \n\n\n\n Landscaping with trees and woody shrubs requires planning\, patience\, and an understanding of how plants grow over time\, some taking many years to reach their full beauty and impact. Join Bob Koons\, a familiar face both in the Kaul Wildflower Garden and at our plant sales\, as he discusses the selection\, environmental needs\, siting\, planting\, and maintenance of trees and shrubs.  \nParticipants are invited to bring two or three photos of their yard for small group work. This is a chance to gain inspiration and practical guidance for your own landscape and to get a sneak peak of what will be available at our Fall Plant Sale! \nInstructor: Robert (Bob) Koons\nBob Koons has been a volunteer with Birmingham Botanical Gardens for nearly 10 years. Applying his background in architecture and love for the environment\, he has helped with multiple spaces such as the Japanese Garden and Kaul Wildflower Garden\, even creating a map of the many native plant species there. Passionate about educating people on plants and landscape design\, he has been leading the Trees and Shrubs volunteer growing group for the spring and fall plant sales since 2019. \nLocation: Adventure Classroom \n\n\n          \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister\nBecome a Member\n\n\n\nCancellation & Refund Policy\nRefunds (minus a $15 processing fee) will be given for Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens programs priced at $25 or more if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) Transfers may be made to programs of equal value at no additional fee. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation or other unforeseen circumstances. Please note that programs are held rain or shine; in extreme weather conditions\, programs may be canceled for your safety and the safety of staff and volunteers.
