DESCRIPTION:When: Saturday\, October 25th 2025 from 9 am to 1 pm\nMeeting Location: Hoover Sport Park East \nDay of event contact: Zach Fitzgibbon\, 256-665-1817\n\n\nWhat to expect: \n\nOn Saturday\, October 25th\, come join Cahaba River Coalition for a wild taro removal along this beautiful stretch of the river. \nVolunteers will meet at Hoover Sport Park East ( 2649 Old Rocky Ridge Rd Birmingham\, AL 35216) and park at the location on the north side of the park where we will sign in\, hand out tools and get removal instructions. From there\, we will make our way down the trail and start showing the wild taro who’s boss. We’ll work until around noon before wrapping up to sort and weigh the litter and taro. \nAfter every Mom’s Basement Cleanup there will be an afterparty at Mom’s Basement with drink specials and prize giveaways for each participant! Details will be given at the cleanup. \nWhat to bring: \n\n\nWater (at least 1 liter)\nSunscreen\nSun hat\nLong sleeved shirts or garden sleeves and long pants are recommended (but wear what is most comfortable for you.)\nClose-toed shoes (required) or close-toed water shoes (optional)\n\nYou are welcome to bring a cooler for your water and lunch\, but alcohol is prohibited.  \n\nRegister HERE.\n\nYou will receive a reminder the week before this event with further information.
