SUMMARY:Sunday Story Seven - with storyteller MATT DAVIS and music with MAMIE LEW
DESCRIPTION:Act I – Open Mic storytelling. Put your name in the hat for a chance to share a personal\, true story onstage. \nAct II – Featured storyteller Matt Davis \nAct III – Stories and Songs with Mamie Lew \n* * * \nABOUT OUR PERFORMERS:\nMatt Davis has performed at the prestigious Just for Laughs festival in Montreal\, JFL42 in Toronto\, Sketch Fest in San Francisco\, KLICfest in Malaysia\, UICF in Utrecht\, Netherlands\, the Bengaluru Comedy Festival in India\, the Top of the World Comedy Festival in Kathmandu\, Nepal\, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Edinburgh\, Scotland\, Fringe World in Perth\, Australia\, and many others. Matt has performed in several hundred cities across 60+ countries\, including many where he was the first international or U.S.-born artist to work with local scenes. \n“Mamie Lew is a one-of-a-kind artist from Aiken\, South Carolina\, recently moved back from Nashville\, TN. Also popular in the Austin\, TX music scene\, her free-spirited\, flower child style consists of influences from legendary artists like the beautiful Emmylou Harris to Townes Van Zandt. Her creative mind is like no other. She provides unimaginable lyric that could only come from one place\, and that’s deep within the heart: evidence and markings of a true artist. She’s a real-life dream weaver who can express the inner feelings of your soul in a line of a song\, the things you dream about and feel that no one could explain. Mamie can perfectly mold them into a masterpiece of a song. I can say from personal experience from writing with her\, that when she sits in silence for 15 minutes then says\, “I have an idea\,” you know it’s going to blow your mind. Get ready to hear one of the best writers I’ve had the pleasure to know personally and one of the most kind-hearted as well.”\n-Victoria Camp\, Sweet Tea Trio \nABOUT THE STORY SEVEN:\nHave you always wanted to tell a story onstage? Or do you prefer to listen while others share? Either way\, join us at the monthly storytelling variety show the Sunday Story Seven. The open mic is open to new and seasoned storytellers – just put your name in the hat for a chance to tell a 5-minute true tale. No notes\, no theme – just you and the mic! \nNever tried a storytelling open mic before? Love hearing true\, personal stories? Love live music? Come see what it’s all about.
