Led by military families from Secure Families Initiative\, this panel event (June 23rd) and town hall (June 24th) will center testimony and lived experience often excluded from official records. \nAs the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of America’s founding\, these events are intended to honor those who have fought to defend our democracy across generations\, particularly those whose service has historically received lesser recognition. Many of the men and women who defended our nation have returned home only to find that they lack full access to the very liberties they fought to protect. Still Here\, Still Speaking will elevate these stories\, educate the broader public\, and spark meaningful conversation about how communities can welcome and support active-duty military and veteran families. \nJune 23rd – Birmingham Civil Rights Museum – 10a-12pm  \nJune 24th – Carver Theatre\, Jazz Hall Lobby – 5:30-7pm  \nThese events are hosted by Secure Families Initiative and co-sponsored by the Urban League of Alabama and Black Veterans Project.
