Organized by Women’s Outdoors Club with support of Wild Alabama, this event is a great opportunity to give back to our wilderness places and enjoy a hike afterwards.
We will pick up trash for about 1 to 1.5 hours, then have lunch (bring your own) and go for an easy 3-mile hike. After that, additional hiking opportunities are available for anyone who want to hike more.
Please note, there is no mobile phone signal in the Sipsey Wilderness, or it is very random. It is encouraged to meet and ride together. You must bring sturdy boots and long pants for trash pickup part since we could be climbing steep sides of the road. Gloves will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own garden gloves or work gloves.
If you plan to attend, send email to womensoutdoorsclub@gmail.com to confirm your participation, cancellation notice in case of inclement t weather and so we can plan ahead for resources.
