Small Scale Development Discussion and Happy Hour with Author Jim Heid
August 27, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Small Scale Development + Happy Hour
ULI Alabama welcomes Jim Heid, small-scale developer and author of Building Small: A Toolkit for Real Estate Entrepreneurs, Civic Leaders and Great Communities, to Birmingham on August 27th for an informative discussion
on small scale development followed by a happy hour hosted and sponsored by David Baker Architects.
Signed copies of Jim’s book will be available for purchase.
Jim Heid is an infill developer and strategic real estate adviser who has dedicated his career to a simple mission
he first penned in 2000: “to demonstrate real estate development is a constructive endeavor that can positively
shape the urban, rural and human environment.” Known for his practical but aspirational approach, Jim founded
CRAFT Development to create more inspired alternatives for working and living. CRAFT focuses on incremental development and intentional place-building in smaller communities that are facing demographic shifts and growth because of their high quality of life. Before CRAFT, Jim founded, and still runs, UrbanGreen© Advisors, a strategic consultancy to government agencies, real estate companies, and legacy landowners seeking more sustainable and resilient approaches to real estate development.
