Red Mountain Reading Series at Jefferson State Community College

The Red Mountain Reading Series presents Daniel “Jose” Carr. Trumpeter extraordinaire and member of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, Carr also serves as Director of Music Education for the AJHF. Per the AJHF Facebook page, Carr “has been a mainstay of Birmingham’s jazz community. He currently hosts a Tuesday night jam session at B.O.S.S. Ultra Bar and Lounge located in downtown Birmingham.” His lecture will also feature a musical performance and jam session with students—bring your instruments! Co-sponsored with the JSCC Black History Committee.

This event will take place at the Shelby-Hoover Campus of Jefferson State, 4600 Valleydale Road, Birmingham, AL 35242, in the Health Sciences Building Multipurpose Room. The reading is free and open to the public.
