PANIC Toxic City Film Screening

February 27, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Folks who live in some Birmingham, Ala., neighborhoods are trapped in communities with deadly levels of industrial pollution. Collegeville, Fairmont and Harriman Park are boxed in by heavy industry, raining soot and chemicals down on the residents and their property. People have been leaving for decades, but many are stuck, unable to afford to get out. “Toxic City: Birmingham’s Dirty Secret” is an award-winning 26-minute documentary about the people left behind.

Come learn about the pollution issues in North Birmingham & PANIC’s mission. Get ready to contribute to dialogue about how to solve the issues of environmental injustice and stand in solidarity with residents on the frontlines.
