Our Voices

InToto Creative Arts is on a mission to provide opportunities for creative expression, movement, healing, and community building through the arts for folks affected by hardships like homelessness and incarceration.  Our Voices is a biannual community arts showcase that will feature works created during sessions with partnering organizations Firehouse men’s shelter, Pathways Home women’s shelter, The 1920 Center for folks recovering from mental health disabilities, and Faith Chapel Care Center.

Our Voices is an opportunity for InToto artists to earn income through an 80% commission on art sales, with the remaining 20% going back into sustaining our programming.  From 5:00-6:00, we will have live poetry readings and interactive dance and theater performances.

Our Voices is a platform that allows these often overlooked communities to come into the spotlight, have their voices heard, and to be seen through a lens of esteem, worth, and dignity.  Our hope is that we can help to destigmatize homelessness and to have these individuals be defined not by their housing status but by their creative contributions. Our overarching vision is to build a more compassionate and supportive Birmingham community.

We are asking a $10 or “pay what you can” cover, which includes food and drink.
