Oak Mountain Strenuous hike ~13 miles

February 22, 2020 @ 7:30 am - 3:30 pm

We will meet at the North Trailhead to hike a full day at a pace of about 3 miles an hour. We will take the Yellow trail to the Yellow/White connector, up the connector (the hardest, steepest part of the park), then take White over to the Peavine Falls area and back all the way on the Blue Trail.
This will be in the ballpark of 12 miles and has some of the most strenuous trails in the park. You should have at least 3 liters of water, lunch, snacks, hat, raingear, shoes or boots with good tread and perhaps a hiking pole. This is definitely not a beginner hike, nor will it be at a beginner pace. If you are capable of doing 15 miles and keeping a general pace of 2.5 to 3 mph, you are welcome to come with us. There is another more moderate hike happening this same day, so there are other options for getting outside on Saturday.

Hope to see you out on the trail soon! Lucina
