Moon Trees and Moon Tales

Location: Birmingham Botanical Gardens | Base of the Moon Tree (accessibility entrance to the Dunn Formal Rose Garden)
Free to all garden visitorsCome see the Moon Tree at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Learn about the unique history of this 5-year-old sycamore grown from seeds that traveled to the moon and back on Apollo 14. Then hear facts, legends, and tales about the moon. Participants will leave with sycamore seeds to plant their own landscapes.This free, family-friendly program is collaboration between Kristy Hearn, Children’s librarian at North Shelby Library, and Friends’ of Birmingham Botanical Gardens own Hope Long, director of library services at the Library at the Gardens
