Make It Day

September 21, 2019

Read Time 1 Minutes

Put on your thinking caps (tin foil hats), and spark your imagination! Be a part of the McWane maker movement, during Storm McWane weekend, and spend the day crafting, building, inventing, designing, tinkering, and engineering. Learn a new skill and showcase your creativity with other local makers.

Galaxy Bath Bombs – Transcend into space with a galaxy bath bomb, as your tub turns into a dark abyss with glitter and colors which “light up the night sky.”

Glow-in-the-dark Slime – Gooey, slippery fun, to squish, squeeze, and twist. Let it drip and watch it ooze! Scientists of all ages (and planets) can switch off the lights and see slime glow!

Rocket Making – You don’t need fancy fuels to launch a rocket. This paper rocket can be launched using an empty 2 liter bottle and PVC pipe. This system of thrust is how a real rocket works; whether it’s in outer space or in earth’s atmosphere.
Recycled UFOs – Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) is the term for any aerial phenomenon that cannot be immediately identified. Identify your crafty side as you make your own out of this world vehicle, using recycled materials.

Marbled Paper – Marbled papers are some of the most eye-catching papers available. They’re often used in book bindings to give an elegant look and feel. Experience how a centuries old practice can be made in minutes.
